Vehicle Description In 1999, at the Detroit International Auto Show, Cadillac unveiled the Evoq, a radically styled 2 seater concept car that would be faithfully translated to production for the 2004 model year as the XLR.
In fact, every Cadillac since has incorporated the key styling elements first seen in the XLR.
Befitting its emphasis on high performance, the XLR was so closely aligned with the C6 Corvettes that they were built in the same Blowing Green, Kentucky plant.
The XLR-V is the super high performance version, equipped with a 443 horsepower DOHC Supercharged V8 engine, bigger (Z51) brakes, 19 wheels, sport tuned suspension and a 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission with sport mode.
This is a very capable and sporting car that does not compromise on the luxury one expects in a Cadillac.
This one family owned 2006 example is sporting just 37k original miles and is in excellent overall condition.
Everything including the retractable hardtop is in proper working order.
Newer Michelin tires are mounted and all original keys, tools, books and service records are retained.
This car incorporated all the technology Cadillac and GM had to offer at the time including magneto-rheological fluid filled shock absorbers, radar based adaptive cruise control and heads up display.
The Bose sound system sounds fantastic.
Sadly, the XLR was discontinued in 2009 but it remains among the most exotic designs GM has ever produced.
It was an instant classic and the very limited XLR-V has become a coveted collectible automobile.
Buy this car, enjoy it and take care of it and you likely never lose money on it.
This Cadillac is located in Rowlett, Texas and is offered as is where is with a clean title and accident free Carfax.
